Vagotomy An operation to cut the vagus nerve. This causes the stomach to make less acid. Vagotomy Vagus nerve The nerve in the stomach that controls the making of stomach acid. Valve A fold in the lining of an organ that prevents fluid from flowing backward. Valvuloplasty Plastic surgery to repair a valve, especially a heart valve. Vasovagal A transient vascular and neurogenic reactin marked by pallor, nausea, sweating, bradycardia and rapid fall in arterial blood pressure which can result in loss of consciousness.
