Trichomonas
Trichomonas A genus of parasitic flagellate protozoans distinguished by the presence of four anterior flagella, an undulating membrane, and a trailing flagellum. RELATED TERMS-------------------------------------- Anterior The front, as opposed to the posterior. The anterior surface of the heart is toward the breast bone (the sternum). Membrane A flexible layer surrounding a cell, organelle (such as the nucleus), or other bodily structure. The movement of molecules across a membrane is strictly regulated in both directions. The term subjective tinnitus is used when the sound is audible only to the affected individual. Tinnitus may occur as a manifestation of cochlear diseases; vestibulocochlear nerve diseases; intracranial hypertension; craniocerebral trauma; and other conditions. Trichomonas Tuberculosis Any of the infectious diseases of man and other animals caused by species of mycobacterium. T-dependent antigen An immunogen that is able to induce antibody synthesis only in the presence of lymphokines released by helper T cells. T-independent antigen An immunogen which induces antibody synthesis in the absence of lymphokines released by T cells; the antibodies are generally only of the IgM isotype. Titre The reciprocal of the last dilution of a titration giving a measurable effect; e.g. if the last dilution giving significant agglutination is 1:128, the titre is 128. Tolerance Diminished or absent capacity to make a specific response to an antigen, usually produced as a result of contact with that antigen under nonimmunizing conditions.
