Pulse Rate
Pulse RateThe number of heartbeats per minute. The resting pulse rate for an average adult is between 60 and 80 beats per minute. Pulmonary Edema An abnormal swelling of tissue in the lungs due to fluid build-up. Pulmonary Embolism (PE) A clot in the lungs, most often caused by a deep vein thrombosis (clot in a vein in the legs) that has broken free and traveled to the lungs. Risk of PE decreases after blood-thinners are given. Pulmonary Hypertension Pulmonary Hypertension is high blood pressure of the pulmonary arteries. Pulmonic Valve (also called pulmonary valve) The valve that lies between the right ventricle and the pulmonary artery (to the lungs).
