Pregnancy hormones

Pregnancy hormones Any of the hormones involved in regulating pregnancy, including progesterone and estrogen as well as human chorionic gonadotropin andhuman placental lactogen.

Progesterone

A hormone produced in the ovaries that works with progesterone to, among other things, regulate the reproductive cycle.

Synonym gonadotrophin. one of the hormones released by the anterior lobe of the pituitary gland, which programs the activity of the ovary in the female and the testis in the male.

Psychosexual development
A series of stages from infancy to adulthood, relatively fixed in time, determined by the interaction between a person's biological drives and the environment. With resolution of this interaction, a balanced, reality-oriented development takes place; with disturbance, fixation and conflict ensue. This disturbance may remain latent or give rise to characterological or behavioral disorders.

Pavlovian conditioning
Elicitation of a response by a stimulus that normally does not elicit that response. When the response subsequently occurs in the presence of the previously neutral stimulus, it is called a conditioned response, and the previously neutral stimulus, a conditioned stimulus.

Paramedics are traditionally found in an ambulance. Although Paramedics are technically EMT's (EMT-P versus EMT-B) most people refer to them separately.

A disease causing organism. It can be viral, bacterial, fungal or other items such as prions... The seriousness of the disease is measured as its pathogenicity. How likely/contagious it is, is called virulence.
