The chemical activity that occurs in cells, releasing energy from nutrients, or using energy to create other substances, such as proteins.

Any of the five bones that make up the hand and join the wrist to the fingers.

Metacarpus
The metacarpus is the intermediate part of the hand skeleton that is located between the fingers distally and the carpus which forms the connection to the forearm.
