Human subject

Human subjectAn individual who is or becomes a participant in research, either as a recipient of the test drug therapy or as a control. A subject may be either a healthy human or a patient. Synonym: subject/trial subject.

Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV)

All of which can be part of AIDS (Acquired ImmunoDeficiency Syndrome). Unable to fight back, most people die within three years of the first signs of AIDS appearing. Most of all HIV infections have been transmitted through unprotected sexual intercourse with someone who is already infected with HIV. HIV can also be transmitted by infected blood or blood products (as in blood transfusions).

Man-made insulins that are similar to insulin produced by your own body. Human insulin has been available since October 1982.
Human papillomaviruses (HPVs)
Viruses that can cause warts. Some HPVs are sexually transmitted and cause wart-like growths on the genitals. HPV is a major risk factor for cervical cancer.
