Dihydergot

Dihydergot A medicine based in dihydroergotamine and used in the treatment of orthostatic hypotension and migraine with or without aura.

Hypotension
Subnormal arterial blood pressure.
Migraine
A vascular headache associated with changes in the size of the arteries within and outside of the brain. A migraine begins when hyperactive nerve cells send out impulses to the blood vessels, causing constriction, followed by the dilation of these vessels and the release of prostaglandins, serotonin, and other inflammatory substances that cause the pulsation to be painful. It may be due to a hemorrhage, trauma, tumor, vascular malformation or from traction of the vitreous to which it is attached. Sometimes, people with high myopia will develop a retinal detachment, which requires emergency surgery.
