Dark light
Dark light Rods spontaneously produce a signal that is indistinguishable from a photon elicited event even in complete darkness about once every 160 msec. RELATED TERMS-------------------------------------- Rods The rods are the visual cells of the retina that are important for night vision and peripheral vision. The rods are the first affected in rod-cone degenerations such as RP. Event A set of outcomes. Cardiovascular events might include a heart attack and gastrointestinal events a GI bleed. The use of the term "event" in medicine comes from probability theory. SIMILAR TERMS-------------------------------------- Dark adaptometry A type of electrophysiologic retinal testing done to measure the period of time which passes before the retina regains its maximal sensitivity to low amounts of light when going from conditions of bright light to darkness. PREVIOUS AND NEXT TERMS-------------------------------------- DTaP vaccine An immunization that protects against diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussis(whooping cough), given as a series of injections beginning at 2 months. The DTaP is a newer version of the DTP vaccine, and is less likely to haveside effects. For larger steps the displaced object seems to disappear and then reappear at a different location. Increases with retinal eccentricity and is a function of the spatial frequencies in the image. Note that apparent motion can occur at distance much larger than Dmax. Dark light Degree of convergence The angle of inclination of the two eyes used in depth perception Delayed match-to-sample Subject is shown a stimulus and then after a delay is required to choose the same stimulus from a number of stimuli to obtain reward. Depth capture Objects in an image with no apparent depth information can be captured by surrounding surfaces which do contain depth information. Diaplopia Double vision. Dichoptic stimulation When different images are presented to each eye. We thank you for using the Medical Glossary to search for Dark light.
