CLIP

CLIP1. Abbreviation for Corticotropin-Like Intermediate-lobe Peptide, a molecule identical to part of adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) produced in the intermediate lobe of the pituitary gland. 2. Abbreviation for Cross-Linking and ImmunoPrecipitation, a laboratory technique used in molecular biology and genetics.

Clinical depression
Depression that meets the DSM-IV criteria for a depressive disorder. The term is usually used to denote depression that is not a normal, temporary mood caused by life events or grieving.
Clinical disease
A disease with clinical signs and symptoms that are recognizable. As distinct from a subclinical illness without clinical manifestations. Diabetes, for example, can be subclinical in someone before emerging as a clinical disease.
